I’m speaking for myself only, but I have to say that even considering Dr. Gupta for the position of Surgeon General has got to be one of the most irresponsible decisions coming from Obama.
The Obama transition team approached Dr. Sanjay Gupta, CNN’s chief medical correspondent, about becoming U.S. surgeon general, according to sources inside the transition and at CNN.
Some of the outrage or just sheer disappointment on the left is aimed at Gupta’s irresponsible and false reporting on (including a debate) on Michael Moore’s Sicko.
But, I have to say that there have been other statements by Gupta on breast cancer “prevention” (just one example) that has set me to screaming at his face on the TV, and ultimately has led me to discount his objectivity as a doctor. He is nothing more than a tool for the pharmaceutical and medical device industry, in my opinion. I won’t watch him anymore.
It is because of his open disregard to the full mammography/breast cancer debate (that is quite old and ongoing) that should be at the top of the list to completely negate his ability to be this nation’s Surgeon General. Between this and his false statements on Sicko, he has shown that he is not responsible or accountable for his words, and should not be directing the health of our nation.

Nancy Grace for Attorney General?
Obama’s not disappointing. Unlike many others on the left who were busy fooling themselves, I saw he was just another corporate Dem all along. The Gupta balloon? Just dumbness, but Gupta is an insurance and pharma stooge, so it certainly demonstrates how much we have to look forward to universal single payer health care.
