So far, in the debates, Obama is 2 for 0, which means McCain is 0 for 2.
Fifty-four percent of those questioned in a CNN/Opinion Research Corp. survey conducted after the debate ended said that Obama did the best job in the debate, with 30 percent saying Sen. John McCain performed better.
According to the poll, 64 percent had a favorable opinion of Obama after the debate, up four points from before the event. Fifty-one percent of those polled had a favorable opinion of McCain after the debate unchanged from before its start.
A majority said Obama seemed to be the stronger leader during the debate, 54 percent to 43 percent, and by a more than two to one margin — 65 percent to 28 percent — viewers thought Obama was more likable during the debate.
That’s, I guess, pretty good gains, when the format did not seem to compliment either candidate. In fact, both Obama and McCain were really horrible in this format, just different ddegress of bad.
If you have any doubt about McCain, last night should not have alleviated them, simply because of how he tottered around that stage, and rambled. Do you really think McCain gave answers that made sense?. Scary thought that he may not make it through 4 years. Scarier thought, Sarah Palin would be a heartbeat away from the presidency.
To be honest, Obama missed quite a number of chances to blow McCain into the water with the American people.
But the worst performance of the evening went to Brokaw. Tom needs to take himself back to his ranch and hole up there and never come out into public again. What a mess. It was Tom that chose the questions, and out of the thousands of questions he received, I think there could have been better choices he could have made. If those questions were the best of the best, god help us all.
In the end, while Obama was a little bit better than McCain, and Brokaw acted the part of hack, what we really saw was a McCain that is probably not in good health, and getting more and more erratic in his answers.
Let’s see what happens on the next and last debate.

The questions were horrid, and the “debate” was rambling and boring. What really surprised me was how unwell Brokaw looked.
