Life interfered last night, and I was not near a TV to watch the speech. I’m sure that it was a rousing speech, Obama does excel at speechcraft. So, I’m going through it, little by little here.
I’m curious, though, by what others thought — after reading the local papers “strong opinions” it seems that the repugs don’t have anything of substance to argue against the O, and I struck with a niggly feeling that this campaign continue to be reduced to a personality contest.
Will Brewer, a University of Tennessee sophomore who now heads the McCain student group on campus, said: “I think it was very hypocritical for him to criticize McCain for running negative ads and then spending three-fourths of his speech bashing him. I think the American people would be very naive to buy into what he was saying.
[...]Shanna Browning, a McCain supporter, said that Thursday night’s speech helped Obama but it won’t change her vote.
“I just don’t think he’s got the experience to make those promises and deliver on them,” she said.
Unfortunately, the two people bashing the O have not given us anything of substance. The youngster is obviously not going to vote his pocketbook, which, I believe many, many people will be looking at over the next few months. And Browning is just repeating a GOP talking point.
So, to use an old phrase, where is the meat from the repugs?

It looks like McCain may have made a mistake. He only talked with her one time and that was last week about being VP. There appears to be several major issues. I’m not a Rep. But he am shocked about a rash decision. He was close in the polls. This just does make sense.
Now the talking heads are starting to talk about McCain’s 2 serious runs with cancer. And that the cancer could set i again. The last one needed a 5 hr operation. Is she really ready for the President. She not a very worldly. She is not brillant.
