The big news of the day is that Delusional Dick has deemed himself above the law.
Vice President Dick Cheney has asserted his office is not a part of the executive branch of the U.S. government, and therefore not bound by a presidential order governing the protection of classified information by government agencies, according to a new letter from Rep. Henry Waxman, D-Calif., to Cheney.
[...]For the first two years of the George W. Bush administration, Cheney’s office complied with a presidential order that requires officials to report statistics on the number of documents it classifies and declassifies.
Since 2003, however, Cheney’s office has refused to submit the data to ISOO. And when ISOO inspectors tried in 2004 to schedule a routine inspection of the vice president’s offices, they were rebuffed, Waxman’s letter claims.
Funny how Delusional Dick followed the law at first, but then decided he didn’t have to. What prompted that change?
Just so we are all on the same page about this, what makes up our executive branch?
Today, the executive branch consists of well over 3 million people who work in one of three general areas: the Executive Office of the President (EOP); the cabinet and fourteen executive departments; and an extensive collection of federal agencies and corporations responsible for specific areas of the government…
Who makes up the cabinet?
The cabinet consists of the president, the vice president, the heads of the fourteen executive departments, and any other government officials the president wishes to include, such as the head of the OMB or the head of the NSC. In theory, cabinet members are supposed to serve as expert advisers to the president, but in practice, they more often operate as advocates for their department and are seldom involved in actual presidential decision making.
So, Delusional Dick is part of the cabinet, the cabinet is part of the executive branch, thus Delusional Dick is beholden to the rules. We can say it is that simple, but deep down, something else is going on, I can feel it in my bones.
I’m wondering if any revolt by the people to force Delusional Dick into following the law will classified as a “catestrophic event” which will result in Bush declaring total dictatorship?
